Thermal Museum

Competition Arquideas IMOV in collaboration with Paula García Masedo & Lucía Azurmendi, 2011

Energy is the nonvisual identifying characteristic of a volcano. Taking advantage of the great source of geothermal energy that has a volcano, we used the high temperatures of the earth to create a space for enjoyment. We propose to replace the conventional program of a museum, to a museum of energy. A dark, solid, heavy, stereotomic, built space on a volcano, a cave or shelter that offers protection and climate comfort, but open to the landscape, sunlight and wind.
